This Is My Brother
This goes out to my best friend in the world. The one who always has been there for me, and the one who will accept me no matter what I do. The one who has been with me for about 20 or so years of my life and the one who can make me laugh no matter how I'm feeling.
This is the guy who gives the phrase "closer than a brother" an entirely new meaning, as he took time out of his millitary training to visit me while I was in the hospital. (Ok granted, he wasn't really "training," and was super glad to get out of it, but still)
This is also the same guy who will find random things (and often dangerous things) to do with fireworks. Like find out what happens when we place some bottle rockets down the tube for our mailbox, or what happens when you place a fountain upside down (of course that was another friend's idea, but he was right there lighting the fuse). This is also the same guy who will stay up with me until 3 in the morning playing Nazi Zombies, continually egging me on to get to a higher round.
This is also the same guy who continually challenges me in my faith. Who pushes me to question why I believe what I believe. Who doesn't take "I really don't know," as an answer. Who keeps me accountable for anything and everything that I do. The guy who challenges me daily to be a better person. The guy who challenges me daily to be a better Christian.
This is the guy who I look up to. The guy who I wish I could be. The one who always pushes himself to be above the norm. The one who is not afraid to look danger in the eye and give a big hearty laugh. They guy who takes everything in stride and works through it. The guy who had goals for his life when he was 12. They guy that goes above and beyond what anyone tells him to do.
This is the guy who is willing to give his life for his country no matter the cost. The one who loves his country and what it stands for. The one who is willing to spend the rest of his life in the millitary, not for the glory, but for what he can do for his country.
This is my Hero.
