School is Coming to an End

It's a weird sensation coming to the end of a schoolyear. Part of me is joyful that I don't have to worry about assignments and practicing and going to class at 7:45 in the morning every day and all that jazz. But there's another part of me that is sad. I shall miss all of my friends over the summer. And unfortunately, because I'm a senior and most of my friends are graduating, I won't see them as much as I have in the last few years.
Yes, I stated that I am a senior in college, yet I'm not graduating. I am the world's biggest quandary. I had 119 credits at the beginning of this semester (one more, and by most college standards I could have graduated) yet I still had another year and a half left of schooling. The thing was that I was in a program that required 149 credits to graduate, and I had also taken a semester off due to medical issues.
So it is very frustrating for me that I am not graduating for another year, yet all but two of my friends are graduating in the next 9 months, so it's weird for me. I know that I'll be graduating soon, but after 16 years in school (that's with the semester off included) I'm ready to be out of the school system. 5 years of elementary, 3 of middle school, 4 of high school, and 4 of college is enough schooling for me.
Yet it seems that nowadays school is getting longer and longer. Out of most of the people I know, most of them are not graduating within the "usual" 4 years of college. Whether it be the rising cost of schooling, the rising amount of credits needed to graduate, or whatever, most students nowadays (in my private college) do not graduate in 4 years. Of course there are a few who graduate within the 4 year "usual" and even some that graduate in 3 1/2 years, but these are those who took on 20+ credits a semester.
So I say "adieu" to all of my friends who are graduating! God bless you all, and may you wreak havoc on the world in whatever field you choose to go into. Remember our times together through rose colored glasses, and may God guide you upon your path.
Goodbye my friends,
The J
