I'm Baaaaaaaack! (and I'm having trouble spelling)
So it's been a while since my last post... 10 days to be precise. And while that's not really a "long time," in my world, a lot can happen in 10 days. Mainly because of my crazy friends. But I digress. The reason I haven't posted in 10 days is because I've been home and haven't been working.
Yes. Home. That mysterious place that seems to have eluded me for the last three months of my life. I haven't been home in a quarter of a year (wow, now that I put it that way it seems too long), and it seems much has changed.
My brother for example. The last time I saw him, he was about 5'9" and still had that squeaky voice of a 13-year-old. However, when I got back and saw him again, he was about 6'0" and his voice had dropped a good octave or so. It was kinda scary actually. My little brother wasn't so little anymore.
And my poor dog looked old. She was happy as ever to see me, but she bounded up a little slower than I was used to. And she wasn't as eager to play. However, when it came to her daily walk, she was very eager and seemed to regain some of that "puppy" that seems to have hidden itself.
My cat on the other hand was still an unrelenting force of nature as ever. And because my family decided to go visit Texas this past week, I was the official caregiver. Anytime the fuzzball wanted attention, he would meow loudly and start pawing me. And when it came to dinner, there was no place in the house that I could escape his loud meowing. I'm still amazed that such a loud sound came out of something that small. He could be an opera singer.
And of course the unrelenting force of nature felt the need to wake me up every morning by pawing my face and meowing in my ear. And it was definitely not because he was hungry. He just wanted attention. As soon as I groggily started to scratch his head, he eagerly started purring. Of course my glare that I gave him did nothing to deterr his eager seeking of my attention.
I must say however, it was a nice break. Even though I spent about 15 hours in the car over the weekend, it was still nice to come home. There's something to be said about the home. There definitely is no place like home... Especially if that home is full of crazy people and animals like mine is. :D
