Pokemon! Gotta Catch 'Em All!
I was in no way a Pokemon player until approximately 2 years ago when I obtained Black for the first time. I bought it alongside my 3DS (which I subsequently have traded in for a 3DS-XL) and was immediately drawn into the incredible realm of Pokemon. I spent hours upon hours finding, fighting, and capturing Pokemon in my first real Pokemon game. I think at the moment, my in-game timer lies somewhere around the 500+ hour mark. I had approximately 85% of all the Pokemon in Black, having either captured or traded most of them into the game.
However with the new release of Black and White 2, there has been a whole new Pokedex of Pokemon waiting for me to capture them. As of the time I am writing this, my Unova (2) Pokedex lies at 279 of 299 Pokemon caught and 506 of 597 Pokemon registered in the National Pokedex. I have caught all 8 of the legedary pokemon introduced in the 5th generation, downloaded Victini and Genesect (still need Keldeo and Meleotta), and have caught most of the legendaries available in the game (I still have to capture Registeel and Regigigas, but they require someone with Black 2). I have beaten the Elite Four twice, and fought off the plans of Team Plasma yet again, and I have done all of this with only 250 hours on my game clock.
Black/White 2 is the best game in the series so far. It gives players things to do constantly after the game has been "beaten" and I have not become bored with it yet. The rewards for obtaining all of the Pokemon in the National Dex are the best part of the game: A shiny charm that increases the rate for shiny pokemon appearing by 2x. It's something to look forward to and work for. My only problem lies in the fact that the trading system has not been updated to allow for trade for unseen pokemon, and there are no restrictions on people asking for hacked or shelling out hacked pokemon. Maybe update that next, eh GameFreak?
I have become a true Pokenerd. I love the games and can't wait for the next ititeration of the games to come out on the 3DS. Rather than being stuck on a certain generation (I'm looking at you genwoners and genfivers) I have embraced all of the Pokemon and look forward to the next game put out by GameFreak and Nintendo. Anyways, until next time, enjoy the special second update, and if you can ge your hands on Pokemon Black/White 2, I highly recommend it.
